Privacy policy

This site, calgaryrealestatehomes.ca, is operated by David Stephen, REALTOR® with CIR Realty. This policy explains what personal information the site collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.

What I collect

I collect personal information only when you provide it. That happens when you submit a contact form, book a call, use the home valuation widget, subscribe to the newsletter, or contact me by email or phone. Typical fields include your name, email address, phone number, and property address.

I also collect analytics about how the site is used (pages viewed, approximate location, device type, referring source). Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless and doesn't identify you personally. Google Analytics 4 sets cookies for measurement and is also used by my marketing partner to measure Google Ads campaign performance.

Why I collect it

• To respond to your questions, requests, or bookings
• To send you market updates or content you asked for
• To understand how the site is used so I can improve it
• To meet legal obligations under Alberta real estate law

Third parties involved

The site depends on a handful of third-party services. Information you submit may be shared with them for the specific purposes listed:

• Follow Up Boss: my CRM; contact and lead information flows there
• Resend: transactional email delivery (booking confirmations, auto-replies)
• Cloudflare: hosting and anonymous analytics (no cookies)
• Google Analytics: aggregate site analytics and Google Ads conversion measurement; sets cookies (_ga, _ga_*) on your browser
• MailChimp: newsletter list; only receives your email if you subscribe
• Google Calendar: bookings go through Google's Appointment Scheduling
• checkyourhomevalue.ca: the embedded home-valuation widget is operated by a third party; they handle your address and the estimate process on their own terms
• Testimonial Tree: if you submit a review, it's stored with them

I don't sell your personal information. I don't share it with anyone outside the services above except when required by law.

How long I keep it

Lead and client information is kept as long as it's actively useful (typically the duration of a client relationship plus a reasonable follow-up window, or as required under Alberta real estate record-keeping rules). If you'd like your information deleted, email me at david@calgaryrealestatehomes.ca and I'll remove it, with the exception of anything I'm legally obligated to retain.

Your rights

Under Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to:

• Know what personal information I have about you
• Ask for corrections to any inaccurate information
• Withdraw your consent to my use of your information, subject to legal and contractual limits
• Make a complaint to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta

Cookies

This site uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to measure aggregate site usage and Google Ads campaign performance. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless. Embedded third-party widgets (the home valuation widget, for example) may set their own cookies on the domain they're served from. Those are governed by the respective third party's privacy policies. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.
